Normal prenatal care includes two ultrasounds: The first is done in the first trimester to confirm the pregnancy and set an anticipated delivery date. The second is done between week 18 and 20 of the pregnancy and will reveal the sex and measurements of the baby. Additional ultrasounds may be ordered by the provider to assess medical issues that may arise during pregnancy.
3D/4D Ultrasounds can provide a positive bonding experience between parents and their unborn baby. If you would like to see what your baby “looks like” using the full capabilities of state-of-the-art 3-D/4-D ultrasound, you can schedule a 20 minute session between 27-29 weeks, at which time you will be given a CD that includes 3-D still images suitable for email to family members. This is an optional service that is billed directly to the patient and must be paid in advance of the service, cost $175.
