Our goal is to provide excellent care to each patient in a timely manner. It is the policy of our practice to monitor and manage appointment no-shows and late cancellations. If it is necessary for a patient to cancel an appointment, the patient is required to call or leave a message at least 24 hours before their appointment time. Notification allows our practice to better accommodate appointments for other patients in need of prompt medical care.
If the patient calls to cancel with less than 24 hours notice or missed their visit, they will be charged $50 for the missed visit. Further, if the patient calls after their appointment time or arrives more than 15 minutes AFTER their appointment time, their account will be automatically charged $50. This is an out-of-pocket expense to the patient.
This policy does not apply to Routine OB visits, Postpartum or Postop patients.
Patients who call to reschedule after their missed appointment must pay the $50 prior to being scheduled for a new appointment.
There are certain instances when the fee will be waived if the patient calls less than 24 hours prior to her appointed time:
Our billing department will add the fee to the patient account and the patient is sent a statement via Athena. If the patient does not pay the applicable fee, their account will be inactivated until the payment is received.
New and established patients who no show 3 times may be terminated from the practice.
